Sakura Madams is a musical project from singer / songwriter / bass vixen Yukino. Living in New York for over 10 years, Yukino has performed in numerous local rock bands including Animallink and Kino. Sakura Madams' music represents the primal yet sensual feelings of Asian women as related through everyday experiences. The music is a mix of rock and blues layered with sultry funk. Compositions cover everyday life experiences from love to anger to honesty. Each song has a special message, from the inspirational 'Mezameyo' to the seductive 'Checkin' You Out' to the darker 'Flying'. Sakura Madams' primary line-up is comprised of Yukino on bass and vocals; Hitomi on drums and back-up vocals; and Nao on guitar. Each member brings a diverse musical background to the group: Yukino sang in numerous pop, rock and funk bands in Tokyo, Hitomi played in a girls punk band while Nao grew up playing folk songs. This diversity creates a funky sound that can only be Sakura Madams.
